PIERRE, S.D. — Kids’ Chance of South Dakota is honored to announce that Governor Larry Rhoden has officially proclaimed October 13–17, 2025 as Kids’ Chance Week in South Dakota.
The Governor’s proclamation recognizes the mission of Kids’ Chance of South Dakota—to provide educational scholarships to the children of workers who have been severely or fatally injured in workplace accidents. The week brings statewide attention to the challenges these families face and celebrates the life-changing opportunities that education creates for their children. “Children of injured workers often face uncertainty about their future,” the proclamation states. “Kids’ Chance of South Dakota helps open the door to education, opportunity, and brighter tomorrows.”
About Kids’ Chance Week
Each year, Kids’ Chance organizations across the country celebrate Kids’ Chance Awareness Week, a dedicated time to share stories, raise awareness, and connect with supporters who make these scholarships possible.
This year’s observance, from October 13–17, 2025, unites all 50 state chapters around a single goal: to ensure that more money goes to more kids who need it most.
Throughout the week, Kids’ Chance of South Dakota will highlight the stories of scholarship recipients, share updates from community partners, and invite the public to join in expanding educational opportunities for students whose families have been affected by workplace injuries.
